Gristle Bug Fly tying tutorial

Today at Snake River Fly, Dubbing Dave is showing us how to tie a killer midge pattern. The gristle bug is super simple and gets those picky fish to open their lips. Great pattern for south east Idaho lakes and below American falls on the snake this time of year.

Material List:
Hook: #14 scud hook.
Body: Killer caddis beads in ruby size midge.
Thread: 140 D red

These bugs are making their way to our website soon for purchase and we have everything you need to whip them up at the shop.

The SRF crew is always happy to help with any and all fly fishing/tying questions so give us a ring at (208) 904-3900 if you need!

Happy tying and best fishes!
